The Reverend Jeff Beason is the fifth child, born to the late Florine Hope and James Alaska Beason, and is affectionately known by the family as, “Florine’s baby boy”. Pastor Beason is a proud native of Miami, where he was reared in the church by a loving “village” of family and church family at the Church of God of Prophecy. As a youth, he watched his grandfather serve in ministry, the late Elder Shadrach Lewis, who was a faithful servant in the church and who planted multiple churches in Miami for the Church of God of Prophecy (CGP) denomination. Two of those churches that he planted, CGP Ridgeway and CGP Opalocka, Pastor Beason was able to watch his mother Florine serve faithfully in both churches, and she insured that he and his brothers and sister served faithfully as youth as well.
After graduating from Miami Norland Senior High School, he attended and is a proud alumnus of the University of Florida, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business and Economics.
After relocating to Orlando, Florida, Pastor Beason joined St. Mark African Methodist Episcopal Church, under the leadership of Bishop Samuel L. Green. Under this leadership Pastor Beason began working in ministry. He was recruited to work with the youth at the church as well as serve as the Sunday School Superintendent. It was during this early tenure at St. Mark that Pastor Beason recognized that there was a greater call on his life, and he acknowledged that he was called to minister. Immediately after acknowledging the call, he was relocated to Owings Mills, Maryland and then Simsbury, Connecticut by his job with The Hartford Insurance.
A Faithful Servant
The Lord returned him back home to Florida and upon relocating back, he rejoined St. Mark AMEC, where he picked up the call he received earlier from the Lord and embraced his calling to serve in ministry. He thereafter attended St. Thomas University, earning a Master of Divinity degree. During this time, he also matriculated through the Board of Examiners in the Central Conference of the 11th Episcopal District and was ordained an Itinerant Elder.
Known for his passion for working with our youth, Pastor Beason was appointed Youth Pastor and Young Adult Pastor under the leadership of Pastor Terence R. Gray, I. Pastor Beason, served diligently and the Youth and Young Adult Ministry grew tremendously. He was able to mentor countless young people and helped instill in them a strong Biblical foundation. Because of the growth of the Young Adult Ministry at St. Mark, Pastor Gray received the vision to establish a ministry on the East Side of Orlando and assigned Pastor Beason to the work of building and growing the ministry on the east side.
Pastor Beason’s ministry is deeply rooted in the Gospel of Matthew 25, embracing the call to serve “the least of these.” This commitment is reflected in a passion for caring for the poor, supporting those in need, and living out faith through love and action.
With a focus on spiritual growth, community engagement, and compassionate service, Pastor Beason continues to lead with humility, wisdom, and a steadfast dedication to making a lasting impact within the church and the broader community.
With over 30 years of serving faithfully in the insurance industry, Pastor Jeff currently serves as AVP of Claims at Amtrust Financial Group, where he has been employed over the past 15 years.
